Migrating to Azure Cloud

We at BPK Tech take a unified approach to cloud migration and modernization

One our client in the Dental space, we started by discovering and assessing on-premises resources using the free Azure Migrate tool. On-evaluating its cost and the down time, it was not a difficult choice to suggest them to move to a cloud tool

As part of process, we did technical and business insights into infrastructure, databases, and applications and calculated the return on investment (ROI). This process also involved tracking and setting up the process expectation on managing cloud migration processes, its progress until completion by setting a central dashboard for ease of management and visibility.

A successful move to Azure starts with a plan & strategy like “lift and shift” for existing VMs or cloud-native modernization for deeper cloud benefits.

We migrate workloads in phases, testing thoroughly at each step.

Continuously monitoring and optimizing Azure environment for peak performance and cost-effectiveness was done at each stage.

By following the above steps, a strategic and successful cloud journey could be achieved

Microsoft Azure equips you with a toolbox for migrating on-premises resources to the cloud. Here are two key tools:

  • Azure Migrate: This central hub streamlines the entire migration process. It discovers on-premises servers, assesses their cloud compatibility, and recommends migration strategies. Use Azure Migrate to plan, migrate, and manage your move in phases, all from a single dashboard.
  • Database Migration Service (DMS): Seamlessly migrate your on-premises databases (like SQL Server) to Azure databases. DMS supports various migration scenarios, minimizing downtime and ensuring data consistency.
  • Azure App Service Migration Assistant simplifies migrating ASP.NET and PHP web apps to Azure App Service. This free tool assesses app readiness, identifies potential issues, and guides the migration process, smoothing your path to the cloud.
  • Azure SQL Migration to streamline your SQL Server database migration to Azure SQL Database. This assessment tool within Azure Data Studio helps identify compatibility issues and recommends target configurations, ensuring a smooth and optimized cloud transition for your databases.
These tools, along with other Azure services, empowered to craft a strategic and efficient migration plan, paving the way for a successful journey to the cloud.

Why Clients Move to Cloud Solutions

Rapid Deployment: Costly and disruptive on-premise upgrades are challenges, while cloud applications automatically stay current with the latest releases, with no downtime at all.

Flexible Scaling: While on-premise systems are rigid, subscription licenses and cloud admin tools provide the flexibility to purchase only what you need, when you need it.

Global Access: True cloud solutions offer unmatched accessibility from anywhere, offering a level of risk mitigation when the unexpected happens and offer security to data

MSFT Invests in Customer Success

Microsoft is committed to ensuring a smooth transition for its customers. They not only offer new products but also provide funding for training activities, proof-of-concept exercises, and awareness events. These initiatives aim to bridge the gap between customers and their business goals, ultimately leading to a well-trained team and successful migration.

Microsoft's Commitment to Partners and Customers

The primary objective of ECIF is to support Microsoft customers in successfully adopting and utilizing Microsoft products and solutions. By contributing to the cost of specific projects, ECIF helps mitigate financial barriers that might prevent organizations from upgrading their technology infrastructure.
